Softbank Hawks, a prestigious Japanese professional baseball team (NPB), will hold a variety of events during the spring camp practice game against the Doosan Bears of the KBO League. We plan to do our best to create a venue for baseball exchange festivals between Korea and Japan.

The Doosan Bears, led by coach Lee Seung-yeop, will play a practice game against the Softbank Hawks at Paypaying Dome in Fukuoka, Japan on March 3. This is the first time the Doosan Bears play at the Fukuoka PayPay Dome.

Special matches are held in the same environment as regular matches, with paid spectators admitted. PayPay Dome can accommodate 40,000 spectators. About 33,000 baseball fans are expected to attend the game day between Doosan and Softbank.

Softbank Hawks plans to offer significantly discounted prices for Korean baseball fans, including Doosan Bears fans, when purchasing tickets in Korea. The entire third base infield seats will also be given over to the Doosan Bears cheering squad and fans.

The Doosan Bears cheerleaders, characters, and cheerleaders Seo Hyun-sook, Jeong Hee-jung, Ahn Hye-ji, and Park Ha-jeong will present a spectacular performance. After the game ends, a fireworks festival will be held within the dome. Unless the weather is bad, such as rain, the dome roof will be open.

The Doosan Bears team sold a 3-night, 4-day Fukuoka tour for fans. The response from fans was so enthusiastic that everything was sold out on the first day of sales. The special match tour includes round-trip airfare and accommodations at the Seahawk Hotel, a post-game experience at the PayPay Dome ground, a commemorative photo shoot with the players, and Doosan Bears merchandise.

Softbank Hawks plans to sell Mizuho Premier S seats, infield S reserved seats, and infield A reserved seats at a discount for Korean baseball fans for the official opening game starting on April 2.

Softbank Hawks, based in Fukuoka, celebrated the 31st anniversary of the opening of PayPay Dome and the 86th anniversary of its founding last year. From 2017 to 2020, they were the first team in the Pacific League to win the Japan Series four times in a row. Ahead of the 2024 season, the team is being reorganized with the appointment of coach Hiroki Kokubo. Coach Kokubo is a familiar figure to domestic fans, having teamed up with coach Lee Seung-yeop at the Yomiuri Giants in 2006.

Coach Kokubo, who leads Softbank, also served as the head coach of the Japanese national baseball team from 2013 to 2017. He also remembers taking the baton of Samurai Japan and clashing with Korea twice in the 2015 WBSC Premier 12.
